COVID-19: Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas do their bit; actress urges people to donate by saying, 'together, we can make a difference'
The alarming spread of the deadly Coronavirus aka COVID-19 has enabled a number of countries including India to implement a complete lockdown. With the number of infected increasing rapidly, shoots of web series, television shows and films all across the nation have been cancelled until further notice. This shutdown has burnt a hole in the pockets of daily wage employees and the production team. Celebrities are leaving no stone unturned to extend financial help by contributing to the relief fund set up Governments and NGOs across the globe. After celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Kartik Aaryan, Shilpa Shetty, Anushka Sharma and many others, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and her American pop singer husband Nick Jonas have also extended their helping hand.
Priyanka who is currently settled in the US, on Instagram, announced that Nick and she have contributed to organisations that help those in need. She further urged people to do their bit. "So many people around the world need our support more than ever. It was important for Nick and I to donate to organizations that are helping low income and homeless families, helping doctors and first responders, feeding children, and of course supporting the music & entertainment industry. They need your support too, and we would implore you to donate. No amount is too small, even if it's $1. Together we can make a difference," Priyanka wrote.
Priyanka, apart from this, shared details of organisations and NGO including UNICEF, of which she is a brand ambassador, on her Instagram. "The world needs our help more than ever. These organizations are doing amazing work by helping those impacted by #Covid19. They are feeding the hungry (including children out of school), supporting doctors and first responders, helping low income and homeless communities, and supporting our colleagues in the entertainment industry. Nick and I have already donated to these charities: @unicef, @feedingamerica, @goonj, @doctorswithoutborders, @nokidhungry, @give_india, and @sagaftra, #IAHV, @friends_of_aseema, and #PMCares Fund. Thank you for everything you are doing. They need your support too, and we would implore you to donate as well. I have linked to each org with a swipe up in my stories...no donation is too small. Together we can help the world beat this," Priyanka wrote while sharing the details of the organisations.
