It is no secret that Katrina Kaif and filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar share a strong bond of friendship. The duo who has given blockbusters in the form of Tiger Zinda Hai and Bharat, is undoubtedly admired by fans. Recently, reports of Katrina and Ali teaming up after the success of Salman Khan starrer Bharat did the rounds. While the concerned parties are yet to confirm, the buzz is strong that the venture will be a superhero-themed one. Now, in the latest development revolving the yet-to-be-announced project, reports suggest that the makers are planning to mount it on a large scale. A franchise in the making, the film is said to be locked on the budget of Rs. 90 crores. Katrina is reported to be a part of the first installment.
“The film is being planned on a lavish scale and mounted on a grand canvas. They want to establish it into a franchise and for the first part starring Katrina, they are looking at making it at a whopping budget of Rs 90 crore," a source close to the development was quoted by an entertainment portal.
In addition to this, the report stated that Ali, who announced Mr. India franchise recently, has dropped the idea after much hue and cry. However, the director is yet to give clarity on this. The source further added that post the legal drama, Ali has now shifted his focus on something else.
“They never expected such a hue and cry over the Mr. India franchise. After Mr. India’s director, Shekhar Kapur, decided to sue them, Zee Studios and Ali Abbas Zafar dropped Mr. India and decided to do something else,” the source added.
