The remix will damage your eardrums: 'Delhi 6' director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra slams Sidharth Malhotra-Tara Sutaria's 'Masakali' remake

Music company T-Series released the remade version of Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Abhishek Bachchan starrer Masakali from their film Delhi 6 on Wednesday. Titled Masakali 2.0, the new version features Sidharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria but unfortunately has drawn a lot of flak for ruining the original.

A R Rahman, yesterday after Masakali 2.0 was released on video streaming platforms, reacted to the recreation and took a sharp dig at the song by issuing a statement on social media. “No short cuts, properly commissioned, sleepless nights, writes and re-writes. Over 200 musicians, 365 days of creative brainstorming with the aim to produce music that can last generations. A team of a Director, a Composer and a Lyricist supported by actors, dance directors and a relentless film crew.” - Lots of love and prayers A.R. Rahman,” A R Rahman wrote in his statement.

Later lyricist Prasoon Joshi slammed Tseries for recreating the iconic song and tweeted, "All songs written for #Delhi6 including #Masakali close to heart, sad to see when original creation of @arrahman @prasoonjoshi &singer @_MohitChauhan insensitively utilised. Upto the conscience of @Tseries. Hopefully the fans will stand for originality. @RakeyshOmMehra"
