In the fight against Coronavirus outbreak in India, everyone is lending their helping hand whether it is through money, staying inside their homes or helping in whichever way they can. India’s leading playback singers have also come together to help India combat the pandemic. Amid the Coronavirus lockdown several renowned singers have come together to perform online live to entertain people who are quarantined in their homes. Titled Sangeet Setu this three-day programme will be hosted by none-other-than Akshay Kumar and will be aired on Doordarshan.
Eighteen stalwart singers will be coming together for this online concert called Sangeet Setu. The first episode aired today on DD National at 8 pm which was hosted by Akshay. The funds generated through this show will be given to PM CARES Fund to fight against COVID-19 outbreak in the country. Akshay shared the details about the show on his social media handle as well.

Anup Jalota, Sudesh Bhosle, Alka Yagnik, Salim Merchant, Asha Bhosle and Kailash Kher performed tonight. Other singers who will be joining tomorrow and day-after are SP Balasubramaniam, Shaan, Suresh Wadkar, Shankar Mahadevan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Udit Narayan, Talat Aziz, Kumar Sanu, Pankaj Udhas, Sonu Nigam, Hariharan and KJ Yesudas. Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar is also associated with Sangeet Setu although she will not be performing.
