Karisma Kapoor, after a long sabbatical, returned to acting with Ekta Kapoor's web show Mentalhood on ALT Balaji and ZEE5. The actress who was on a break to spend time with her two children-Samaira and Kiaan, delighted us with her presence on screen. However, it came across as a major surprise when Samaira, 15, acted in Chunky Panday's daughter Rysa Panday's short film Daud. Talking about the prospects of Samaira's Bollywood debut, Karisma, in an interview with an entertainment portal, told that her daughter and her friends are interested in films. She further added that whether the interest lies in performing in front of the camera or behind it, is yet to be thought of.
"That's not true. My daughter and her group of friends are interested in films through all aspects of movies, so whether it will be behind the scenes or in front of the camera I still do not know. They are just experimenting now and learning the ropes. So right now there are no such plans per se. Above all, Samaira is very young and still in school," Karisma told.
When asked whether Samaira will be the next Kapoor to step into acting, Karisma said the decision is up to her. She added that as a mother, she backs her children's decisions but doesn't over or under encourage them. "It's up to her. I will never over-encourage or under-encourage her. But yes, I do back my children in their decisions. My philosophy is ‘believe in yourself and do things which make you happy’," Karisma added.
Samaira is Karisma's eldest daughter with her ex-husband Sunjay Kapur who is now married to Priya Sachdev. The actress tied the knot with Sunjay in 2003 and was divorced in 2016.
