It was only last week that Twitter sent out a warning of suspension to Kangana Ranaut's fiery sister Rangoli Chandel. Now, her account has been suspended for violating Twitter rules. It all started when Rangoli received a warning from Twitter after which she slammed the social media platform for being an anti-national. Rangoli wrote, “So is this Twitter anti-national … When I joined Twitter, people said that it is dead, go to Insta. If Twitter suspends my account, it is going back to the same cemetery where it was and that happens when you turn off an honest voice." After slamming Twitter, the social media platform suspended her account.
Now, Kangana Ranaut has released a video talking about the entire incident. In an Instagram video addressing in Hindi, the actress emphasized on the importance of freedom of speech in a democracy, while also claiming that Rangoli didn’t promote the genocide of Muslim believers in any way. The actress said that if her sister Rangoli has mentioned Muslim people anywhere, she will herself come forward to apologize along with Rangoli. She also went on to speak her mind on other troubling issues, including branding certain groups as “terrorists” that keep doing the rounds on social media sites.
Kangana even went on to suggest that such social media sites should be “demolished” and that India should “start our platforms.” Nonetheless, she signed off with a smile on her face wishing all watching a “happy lockdown.”
Both Kangana and Rangoli are known for her straightforward attitude and unaltered opinions. They never shy away to share their viewpoint on several topics, from films to politics.
