Aamir Khan's and Kareena Kapoor Khan's recent collaboration after 3 Idiots and Talaash: The Answer Lies Within, titled Laal Singh Chaddha is amongst the most anticipated films in recent times. An official Hindi adaptation of Tom Hanks' Forrest Gump, the Advait Chandan directorial has managed to create the right amount of buzz since its announcement on March 14, 2019. However, now it seems the film won't release this year. Well, yes. Due to the ongoing Coronavirus crisis and the lockdown, the makers of Laal Singh Chaddha are eyeing for a 2021 release. Atul Kulkarni, the writer of the Aamir-Kareena starrer, in a recent interview, confirmed the same and informed that the film might miss its December 2020 release.
"Laal Singh, I think, would release next year now. We were supposed to release in December," Atul told.
Aamir, owing to the rapid spread of Coronavirus all over India, called off the Punjab schedule of Laal Singh Chaddha in March. Apart from this film, a number of projects are stalled due to the pandemic. The release of films like Sooryavanshi, '83, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl and Coolie No. 1 are kept on hold as the lockdown in India will be lifted on May 3.
Laal Singh Chaddha, apart from Aamir and Kareena, stars Manav Vij and Vijay Sethupathi in important roles. The film will be produced by Viacom18 Studios and Aamir Khan Productions.
