It isn't an unknown secret that Suniel Shetty's daughter Athiya Shetty is frequently linked-up with cricketer KL Rahul. The actress, who wished the Indian cricket team member on his birthday on April 18 with a loved-up picture, subtly confirmed their relationship. As we wait for the two to officially put forth their status in the public, Athiya's superstar father Suniel Shetty addressed their alleged bonding and spoke about the link-up rumours that make headlines. During an interview with a leading daily, the actor told that since his children-Athiya and Ahan Shetty are in the showbiz industry, such rumours are bound to appear. He further added that until the speculations are respectful, he has no issues. Suniel said if things get murky in the future, he'll not shy away from taking things in his own hands to protect the reputation of his family.
"I've been an actor for the last 30 years and they've also chosen that. So of course, people will write about them, as people will want to know more about it as long as it is respectful, but I don't have a problem. But if you're going to be running down some reason and speculating to a great extent, the media also has to remember today that we've got the power of the media in our hands too. We have fans, we have social media and right or wrong can always be put out there and discussed. I have the guts to tell people if they've written something wrong about me. I ask them to rectify it or I'll rectify things myself without wanting to hurt anybody or harm anybody. But if anybody's going to try and hurt you or harm you, then we've got our own voice. We've got our own voice and we have a powerful voice too," Suniel told.
Talking about KL Rahul, Suniel called him a good kid and one of the best talents India has. He further went on to appreciate him and said he is phenomenal. Well, it seems Suniel is impressed with the young cricketer. “KL Rahul is unbelievable. I always believed that he is one of the best talents that we had in the country. People may say otherwise today but I've been saying that for quite a few years that he is probably one of the technically perfect batsmen in this country. Of course, Virat Kohli is someone you leave aside because he's legendary, but Rahul is one of the finest technical batsmen that this country has seen. He's a good kid. It doesn't matter who he is. He's phenomenal. Now he is also wicketkeeping in the ODIs and the T20s. I'm sure that he will learn and be mature and come good for the country,” Suniel added.
This isn't the first time that Suniel has spoken about Athiya's and KL Rahul's alleged relationship. Despite frequent denials, rumours make their way to the headlines.
