The world is currently fighting against deadly Coronavirus. The novel COVID-19 that has claimed the lives of lacs all over the globe till now, is continuing spreading its wrath. This has led to major countries like India to impose a complete lockdown to curb the impact and flatten the curve. During this fight, medical workers are working day in and out tirelessly to protect their country from the Coronavirus. Paying an ode to them along with raising funds for Give India Foundation and to extend support to those affected by the lockdown and virus, Bollywood is reportedly coming together for a virtual musical concert.
According to reports of a leading daily, filmmakers Karan Johar and Zoya Akhtar are putting up a concert titled I For India over the coming weekend. Celebrities like Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma and Priyanka Chopra Jonas will be performing. Karan and Zoya have reportedly asked them to share their acts of four minutes duration. As per a source close to the development, Alia will be singing her songs while Hrithik will play Tere Jaisa Yaar Kahaan on the piano.
According to the source, Kapil Sharma will join Bollywood in the fundraiser and is said to be preparing a fun gag. Music personalities like Vishal-Shekhar, Shreya Ghoshal, Sonu Nigam and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Pritam and Arijit Singh are said to perform their hit songs. Veteran celebrities like Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi and Asha Bhosle are likely to join the fundraiser concert.
Apart from Indian celebrities, Bryan Adams along with Nick Jonas and his brothers will put up a special act. Cricketers namely Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will interact with their fans and urge to not panic and stay positive.
The 2-hour long concert will be aired on Facebook over the coming weekend. Karan and Zoya are making sure to raise funds to provide assistance to those in need during the Coronavirus pandemic. In the recent past, Lady Gaga also organised a virtual concert titled One World: Together At Home. Indian celebrities Priyanka and Shah Rukh participated in the same.
