Bollywood, in the past two days, has been sailing through tough times and blackest days in the history of cinema. As we all were coming to terms with Irrfan's untimely death yesterday, yet another shocking news came in knocking at the doorstep. Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, who was diagnosed with cancer, breathed his last in Mumbai today. Ever since the heart-shattering news came in, celebrities have been pouring out condolences to the Kapoor family and bidding an idol a final goodbye.
Anil Kapoor, who shared an extremely close bond with Rishi, penned a heartfelt note for his 'James'. Madhuri Dixit who has worked with the legendary actor in films like Prem Granth and Saahiban wrote, "I've had the honour of working with Rishi ji. A larger than life person, so outspoken yet so warm. We have lost a brilliant actor today. Still can't believe it.. absolutely heartbroken. My prayers are with the family during this tough time."
Subhash Ghai, with whom Rishi delivered Indian cinema's landmark film Karz, wrote, "Bonding of 40 years n pix of every age and stage. N today I m under lockdown to see my best friend #chintu. RIP my friend"
Nawazuddin Siddiqui who featured with the late actor in Manto, wrote, "This is the worst phase for the Indian Cinema, it’s an end to an era. Was fortunate to have worked with him in #Manto and shall cherish those beautiful moments throughout my life A true entertainer #RishiKapoor Sir"
Veteran actresses Hema Malini and Neena Gupta also offered condolences. Urmila Matondkar expressed grief too.
