The passing away of Rishi Kapoor exactly a day after Irrfan, both to cancer, made Bollywood experience black days like these before. The news of Rishi passing away early this morning, at 8.45 am, the nation woke up to a rude shock. With the Kapoors, Jains, Nandas and other families associated with the veteran shattered completely, Bollywood celebrities refused to accept this harsh truth. Condolences pouring out on social media, celebrities paid their last respect to the Kapoor family virtually, due to the nationwide lockdown. Juhi Chawla, who was working with Rishi on the film Sharmajee Namkeen recently, penned a note with all her heart.
Juhi, who has teamed up with Rishi in films like Saajan Ka Ghar, Bol Radha Bol and Rishta To Ho Aisa amongst several others, is absolutely shattered. In a lengthy note, the actress recalled fond memories shared with 'Chintuji' from shoot sets and gave a glimpse into his fun-loving, colourful and cheerful life through her eyes.
Juhi, unfortunately, couldn't manage to make it to the tearful funeral that took place amid stringent lockdown rules. The actor, who was admitted to the Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital 3 weeks ago, breathed his last at 8.45 am this morning. The funeral took place this afternoon at the Chandanwadi Crematorium with a few family members and friends in attendance. Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, the daughter of the actor couldn't make it to Mumbai from Delhi due to the nationwide lockdown. Rishi is survived by his wife Neetu Kapoor, son Ranbir Kapoor and daughter Riddhima.
