Kanika Dhillon to write Shah Rukh Khan's next with director Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi?

Shah Rukh Khan's yet-to-be-announced film with Rajkumar Hirani is the talk of the town for quite some time now. The superstar who has been missing from the screens since Zero in December 2018, dropped in a major hint at the collaboration during an interaction session on Twitter with fans. Naturally, with the hint, fans can't wait for the official announcement. As the said film is in its scripting stage, reports suggest that Kanika Dhillon has joined Rajkumar and his regular collaborator writer Abhijat Joshi. According to an entertainment portal's report, Kanika is primarily scripting the Shah Rukh led film and Rajkumar-Abhijat will be helping her with inputs. As per sources close to the development, the trio is said to complete the writing process in a month or two. However, the project was scheduled to go on floors in August but will be most likely pushed ahead due to Coronavirus lockdown.

“Kanika Dhillon has come on-board and she along with Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi are busy scripting the film. Kanika is mainly scripting while Rajkumar and Abhijat are helping her with inputs. They are hoping to finish in a month or two. The film was to go on floors in August but due to the lockdown, it seems that the shoot will be pushed ahead,” the source told.

The source further told the portal that like Ranbir Kapoor's Sanju which was directed by Rajkumar, the Shah Rukh film is also shaping up well in the scripting stage. “His film with Shah Rukh Khan too seems to be shaping up well, at the writing stage. And Rajkumar-Abhijat-Kanika collaboration has added a lot to the script and it’ll be something to watch out for,” the source added.

Speaking of Kanika, she is behind the scripts of films like Manmarziyaan, Kedarnath, Judgmentall Hai Kya and Netflix's Guilty. During her initial days in the industry, she worked with Shah Rukh as the assistant director on Om Shanti Om and also wrote the screenplay of Ra.One. Currently, Kanika is busy with Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey's Aanand L Rai film Haseen Dillruba.
