'Much appreciated in these bitter times,' say doctors on receiving a 'sweet surprise' from Alia Bhatt amid Coronavirus pandemic

India has been fighting against the novel Covid-19 aka Coronavirus for the past few months. As the citizens are requested to stay home amid the crisis situation to curb the spread of the invisible enemy, frontline workers including doctors, nurses, Police and essential service officials have been relentlessly working to make the country virus-free. Amid this, Bollywood celebrities are extending support to them in every possible way. Now, as the nation has entered into the fourth phase of lockdown, Alia Bhatt sent a sweet surprise for healthcare workers in Mumbai on Sunday.

Dr. Shripad Gangapurkar of KEM Hospital in Mumbai, on his official Twitter account, posted a picture of the goodies sent by Alia. The hamper included a bar of chocolate, a sweet bun, a packaged apple drink and some more snacks. Not just this, the actress attached a personal note for the healthcare officials and thanked them for their selfless support and protection. "Thank you for all you are doing to keep the community healthy and safe. You are the real heroes," the note by Alia read. In response to this, Dr. Gangapurkar thanked Alia by saying, "Thank you @aliaa08  for such a sweet surprise..much appreciated in these bitter times of pandemic..!!

Alia, amid the Coronavirus crisis, extended financial support to those in need by contributing to the relief fund set by the Government of India. Apart from this, she has been actively working for the protection of animal those who are abandoned due to the pandemic. On the personal front, Alia is currently residing with her beau Ranbir Kapoor since the beginning of the lockdown in March.
