The buzz regarding the third installment of Priyadarshan's iconic comedy Hera Pheri has been doing the rounds for years now. While Priyadarshan confirmed the film being in the pipeline, fans are eagerly waiting for project to kickstart. Starring Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal in the lead roles, Hera Pheri 3 stands to be the highly anticipated ventures of this decade. Now, as discussions on the film are going on for quite some time now, Suniel, during an interview with a leading daily, told that before taking the franchise forward, 'some differences need to be ironed out'. He further added that everything is on hold currently, probably due to the nationwide lockdown.
“Everything is on hold for now. The film’s team intends to make Hera Pheri 3, but some differences need to be ironed out first. The film is a big hit on television as well as in the meme world and we are all aware of the anticipation among the audience for the film," Suniel told.
Hera Pheri 3, if reports are to be believed, will feature Sanjay Dutt along with Akshay, Suniel and Paresh. Speaking about the story, according to earlier reports, Hera Pheri 3 will pick up from where the second edition ended and will fast-forward to the present. The screenplay of Hera Pheri was written by Neeraj Vora while he also directed the second part Phir Hera Pheri. Neeraj breathed his last in 2017.
