Kartik Aaryan is making the most of the lockdown as he spending time with his family in Mumbai. After hosting a chat show, Koki Puchega, on his YouTube channel, where he talks to people about the pandemic and what is being done to fight it, the actor has now said that he is willing to take a pay cut to help the film industry fight the after effects of COVID-19 pandemic.
In an interview with a leading portal, Kartik said it would take a long time for the film industry to be back on its feet like before. Reacting to how Bollywood would take an estimated $1 billion hit after the lockdown ends and the industry will resume operations with smaller crews, he said, "I wouldn’t want to cut down on people’s jobs. There has to be a solution wherein that problem also doesn’t crop up and producers (who are getting hit), they too are saved. There has to be a solution and a balance will come out. Whatever it takes for the industry to get together and start working, I think, I am up for it. I would do whatever collectively we decide to do."
Claiming that he is ready for a pay cut, he suggested that Bollywood actors must also do so. "If that is something that is gonna help the industry, I think we all should do that. We should be up for it. We have taken a huge hit, as a country and as an industry also," he said.
Before him, Taapsee Pannu had said she is ready if her salary gets slashed.
