Kartik Aaryan reveals why he deleted video after being accused of misogyny, quips 'if that had been the case, don’t you think my sister would have objected?'

One should head to actor Kartik Aaryan's social media accounts to get entertained amid the ongoing lockdown period. From posting hilarious pictures to making goofy videos and conducting interactive sessions, Kartik has been doing his best to lighten up the mood of people. Sometime back, Kartik shared a new video on Instagram. In the video, his sister Kritika, a doctor, and Kartik are seen re-enacting a prank where she beats him up.

He returned with another goofy video with his sister. In the video, the Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety actor can seen taking a bit of his chapati and clearly hates it. He then moved towards his sister, held her braid and turned her around. Although the siblings' video has left netizens in splits, a certain section of social media users claimed that Kartik has been promoting domestic violence and misogyny. He later ended up deleting the video.

Now in a recent interview, he talked about the incident and said, “It was said that it promoted domestic violence. Think about it, if that had been the case, don’t you think my sister would have objected? Or my mom? They watched it before we uploaded it. Things are sometimes blown out of proportion as well. After I deleted the video, many peole asked me why did I delete it. There are two sides to everything. You just have to go along. But I am not promoting anything.”

He further added that he deleted the video because it hurt some people’s sentiments. “I know it hurts some people’s sentiments, that’s why I deleted it. If someone was even slightly hurt by it, I should just delete it and not get into it. I wouldn’t really care about it,” he signed off by saying.

On the film front, Kartik will be next seen in Dostana 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
