The Coronavirus pandemic has claimed the lives of incalculable citizens of the world in the past few months. After wreaking havoc, the invisible enemy took away the life of Varun Dhawan's and Kunal Kohli's maternal aunt in the US yesterday. The filmmaker and actor, who are cousins (their mothers are real sisters), mourned the loss of their maasi by sharing heartfelt notes on social media platforms. Kunal, in a tweet, informed that she lost an eight-week long battle against the novel COVID-19.
The filmmaker, in his tweet, wrote that his cousin sister wasn't even allowed inside the hospital and she would sit in her car praying for her recovery. Saying that Coronavirus has been harsh to the family, Kunal shared pictures of his aunt and her siblings.
Lost my Masi to Covid after an 8 week struggle. In Chicago. We’re a large family that’s really close. We can’t be together at this time. This is as painful as the loss. Seeing my Mom Masi’s & Mama’s not being able to be together at this time is really hard.

Her daughter (my cousin sister) would go to the hospital, sit in her car in the car park & pray for her mother. As she wasn’t allowed inside the hospital. Said she felt close to her as she couldn’t see her. This is how harsh Covid is. This isn’t the way to go.
