'Desh ko aatmanirbhar banaye,' says Akshay Kumar in his latest awareness ad campaign on Coronavirus for the central government

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and filmmaker R Balki on May 25 shot for an advertisement campaign regarding the "post lockdown responsibilities" at Kamalistan studio while taking necessary precautions. The campaign was shot for the central government of India. Akshay and Balki had all necessary police and municipal permissions in place before the awareness ad. was shot. To get onto the set, the actor, director and unit had to go through a disinfection tunnel, and there were medical personnel in PPE suits making sure all Covid-19 guidelines were followed. Akshay and Balki took standard precautions.

Now, the ad has been released by the Press Information Bureau of India. Sharing the awareness ad, PIB wrote, "Our battle with #COVID19 is not over, but we will not be afraid of the virus. We will take all precautions and we are going to move on with our lives" 

In the 1 minute 30 seconds advertisement, Akshay is seen as villager Bablu who heads out for work as soon as the lockdown is over but is stopped by the Sarpanch Ji who is worried about him due to the spread of Coronavirus. Akshay soon explains to him why is important to get back to work with all precautions and fight the disease.

The actor ends the ad by saying, "Desh ko aatmanirbhar banaye."
