Bhagyashree reveals Yash Chopra called her ‘the most stupid girl in Bollywood’ in front of her son Abhimanyu Dassani

Bhagyashree has a dream Bollywood debut opposite Salman Khan in Sooraj Barjatya’s film Maine Pyar Kiya. However, she bid adieu to showbiz to happily settle down in holy matrimony with husband Himalaya Dassani. The actress chose to not take up any film offers even though she was hot property at the time and all the big banners wanted to cast her in their films. Bhagyashree recently revealed that legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra was so enraged at her for quitting films that she called her ‘stupid girl’ in front of her son Abhimanyu Dassani.

Speaking to an inline portal, Bhagyashree said, “I actually refused most of the big films of that time. Every time I would meet Prakash uncle or Yashji (Chopra), they would fire me in front of everyone standing in front of us. Even very recently, a few years ago, when I even walked up to Yash uncle and introduced Abhimanyu to him, he told my son, “Yeh tumhari maa hai na, woh industry ki sab se stupid girl thi’.” She also revealed that the late filmmaker would fire her in front of everyone because she refused most big banner films of the time.

She further revealed that Yash Chopra really wanted her to work and she further said, “He really wanted to work me and I would always say no. After Maine Pyar Kiya, every big film was offered to me, especially the ones these directors have done.”

Bhagyashree made her comeback with the TV show Laut Aao Trisha in 2014 and will now be seen in Radha Krishna Kumar’s Jaan (working title), starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde, and AL Vijay’s Thalaivi, which has Kangana Ranaut playing the titular role of former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa.
