Veteran lyricist Anwar Sagar passed away on Wednesday. He breathed his last at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. The cause of his death is not yet known.
Anwar was a popular lyricist of the 80s and 90s. He wrote the lyrics of many chart topping and hits songs such as Waada Raha Sanam from Akshay Kumar’s and Ayesha Jhulka’s 1992 film Khiladi. The lyricist also wrote songs for films like Yaarana, Salaami, Aa Gale Lag Jaa, Vijaypath and others.
He worked with several popular music directors of the day like Nadeem-Shravan, Rajesh Roshan, Jatin-Lalit and Anu Malik.
