Ayan Mukerji to unveil the first look of Ranbir Kapoor's and Alia Bhatt's 'Brahmastra' in August?

Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra has been in the limelight for quite some time now. After much delay, the makers of the mythological fantasy with Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the central roles announced its release date as December 4. With 10-12 days of shoot left and the Coronavirus lockdown acting as a slight roadblock, rumours suggested that the film shall miss its deadline yet again. While the makers of Brahmastra are yet to address this, a leading daily's report stated that Ayan is planning the unveil the first look of the film in August through a preview trailer. A source close to the development told the daily that a campaign is being worked out wherein a series of videos will lead to Brahmastra's release. Ayan is reportedly overlooking the VFX which is being done by a London-based company. 

"It’s a scaled-up film and they are planning a prolonged campaign with a series of videos leading up to the release, like it happens in the West. The first of the lot is expected to be out by August, once the visuals are polished," the source told.

The source further added that Ayan is simultaneously polishing up the screenplay and dialogue of Brahmastra part 2 which is said to go on floors after the first installment releases. According to the source, the filmmaker has the blueprint of all three parts ready and doesn't want much of a gap between each of them. It was also reported that the post-production of the other two films of the franchise won't take time as the team is now well-versed with the mythological world and Ayan's vision. 

Brahmastra, according to the buzz, revolves around Shiva aka Ranbir, who can emit fire from his palms. Alia plays the role of Isha, Shiva's lover who will help him discover his inner power. Amitabh is said to play Shiva's mentor. Brahmastra, produced by Karan Johar under his banner Dharma Productions, also stars Nagarjuna, Dimple Kapadia and Mouni Roy.
