Sonakshi Sinha surprised her fans by deactivated her Twitter account on June 20 to get rid of negativity. The decision came after fans of Sushant Singh Rajput slammed the actress for belonging to a filmi family and kickstarted the nepotism debate yet again. Addressing the same, Sonakshi, a day after deactivating her account, penned down her opinion on trolls and lashed out at them for spreading hate instead of love.
Sonakshi, on Instagram, stated that by deactivating her Twitter account, she 'cut the direct source of insult and abuse' in her life and 'took away the access she had given people trustingly'. The Dabangg actress further said that negativity never served her or her life and it took her a snap of a finger to get rid of 16 million followers that she earned in the last 10 years. Saying that she is 'better off for it', she wished haters and trolls lots of love and healing. Addressing her fans, Sonakshi asked them to keep spreading love and light.
A massive outrage against star-kids took social media by storm post Sushant's death by suicide on June 14. Apart from Sonakshi, actors like Saqib Saleem, Zaheer Iqbal and Aayush Sharma quit Twitter. Director Shashank Khaitan was amongst the first to deactivate his account.
