It's been two weeks since Sushant Singh Rajput's death by suicide. While the film fraternity is yet to come to terms with the loss, Bhumi Pednekar paid tribute to her friend and co-star by pledging to feed 550 impoverished families. Bhumi who worked with Sushant in Sonchiriya, on Instagram, informed that with the help of the NGO- Ek Saath, she will be doing her bit for the needy.
"In loving memory of Sushant Singh Rajput- I pledge to feed 550 impoverished through the Ek Saath Foundation in the memory of my dear friend. Let's show compassion and love towards everyone that is in need, now more than ever," read Bhumi's statement.
The founder of Ek Saath Foundation is filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor's wife Pragya Kapoor. Abhishek and Pragya, soon after Sushant's demise on June 14, pledged to feed 3400 impoverished families in his memory. Abhishek directed Sushant in his debut Bollywood film Kai Po Che and the recently released Kedarnath.
Sushant, on June 14, died of suicide at his Bandra residence. The actor was said to be in depression for six months before taking the drastic step. His last film Dil Bechara will be streaming on Disney+Hotstar from July 24 free of cost. The Mukesh Chhabra directorial also marks the debut of Sanjana Sanghi.
