Vidyut Jammwal and Kunal Kemmu call out Bollywood for leaving their films ‘Khuda Haafiz’ and ‘Lootcase’ from the actors' panel, demand ‘equal playing field’

After Vidyut Jammwal expressed his displeasure on Twitter for being ignored by Disney+Hotstar, Kunal Kemmu has also written a scathing remark in a cryptic tweet. Kunal’s film Lootcase is part of the seven films that are getting a direct-to-digital release on the digital platform in the wake of the Coronavirus lockdown and pandemic. However, he was not invited to the launch event held today.

Voicing his displeasure he took to Twitter and wrote, “Izzat aur pyaar maanga nahi kamaya jaata hai. Koi na de toh usse hum chhote nahi hote. Bas maidaan khelne ke liye barabar de do chhalaang hum bhi oonchi laga sakte hai (Respect and love can never be asked for, only earned. If someone doesn’t give it to you, it doesn’t make you small. Just give us an equal playing field, we’ll show you how high we can leap).”

Vidyut had also taken a dig at the streamer for ignoring his film Khuda Haafiz and Kunal’s film from the launch event and had written, “A BIG announcement for sure!! 7 films scheduled for release but only 5 are deemed worthy of representation. 2 films, receive no invitation or intimation. It’s a long road ahead. THE CYCLE CONTINUES.”

The industry has been reeling under the pressure of nepotism and insider-outsider debate in the wake of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death and while several celebs have come out and spoken about the issue and called out the so-called ‘movie mafia’, looks like the lesson has still not steeped in.
