Earlier this year, Mohit Suri confirmed working on the sequel to his superhit film Ek Villain. Featuring Aditya Roy Kapur, John Abraham, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria, Ek Villain 2 was highly anticipated. However, it appears that there will be a change in the cast. According to a leading daily's report, Aditya is said to have opted out of the film. As per a source close to the development, the actor stepped down due to creative differences with the director. It is being said that Aditya wanted control over the script and that caused issues. Mohit and Aditya recently teamed up for Malang. An official confirmation is awaited.
"Aditya has opted out of the project due to creative differences with Mohit. The actor wanted to have creative control over the script of the film which led to issues between him and the director," the source told.

Ek Villain, directed by Mohit in 2014, featured Shraddha Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh in the lead. Ek Villain 2 is expected to go on floors in the second half of 2020 and is said to be in its scripting stage. It will be produced by Ekta Kapoor and Bhushan Kumar.
Workwise, Mohit is currently focusing on Malang 2 as well as Ek Villain 2. Aditya will be seen in Anurag Basu's Ludo and Mahesh Bhatt's Sadak 2.
