‘Saroj Khan created magic,’ say Alia Bhatt, Sara Ali Khan and other celebs as they pay tribute to veteran choreographer

Veteran Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan breathed her last today at 71 years. She was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Mumbai after complaining of breathing issues on June 20. Saroj passed away in the wee hours of today morning. Her demise has left a deep void in Bollywood and among her fans. Several celebrities took to social media to pay tribute to their beloved ‘Master ji.’

Alia penned an emotional note for Saroj and shared her interaction with her on the sets of Kalank. She wrote, “Saroj ji was magic, she created magic! I will never forget our interaction on the sets of Kalank. 'You dance very well,' she said to me, 'but come spend time with me and I'll teach you how to dance with your eyes.' Thank you Saroj ji for giving so much to the world of dance, movies, and memories that we, you fans, will cherish forever."

Saroj Khan was a three-time National Award winner. She also holds the record of the most Filmfare Awards for Best Choreography. Interestingly, the Best Choreography Award was instituted for her exemplary role in Tezaab.
