Meezaan shares a throwback picture with grandfather Jagdeep, pays homage to the veteran actor with a cute childhood picture

Veteran comedian Jagdeep passed away last night at the age of 81. A popular comic actor, he breathed life into his roles and regaled everyone with his sense of humour onscreen. Also known for his iconic role of Soorma Bhopali in Sholay, Jagdeep’s demise is mourned by his colleagues, friends, fans and family.

Today, Jagdeep’s grandson Meezaan (son of Jaaved Jaaferi) took to Instagram to post a throwback photo of the legend. He kept the caption simple and refrained from voicing any thoughts. Jagdeep’s real name was Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jafri. He started his film career as a child artist extra in BR Chopra's Afsana. He followed it up as a child artist in films like Ab Dilli Door Nahin, KA Abbas's Munna, Guru Dutt's Aar Paar, Bimal Roy's Do Bigha Zamin and AVM's Hum Panchi Ek Dal Ke.

He worked in films such as Gali Gali Chor Hai, Bombay To Goa, Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye, China Gate, Andaz Apna Apna, Phool Aur Kaante, Shehenshah and others.
