Sushant Singh Rajput, who passed away due to suicide on June 14, 2020, now has a road dedicated to him in his hometown - Purnea, Bihar. The inauguration of the new road that is now renamed as 'Sushant Singh Rajput Chowk' took place last evening with several fans and officials in presence.
A report in a leading daily quoted mayor Savita Devi as saying, "Sushant was a great artist and renaming of the road and roundabout is Purnea’s way of paying tribute to him. The road that goes from Madhubani to Mata Chowk will now be called Sushant Singh Rajput road and the Ford Company roundabout has also been rechristened to Sushant Singh Rajput Chowk." Savita Devi has also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding a CBI probe in the death of Sushant.
After the renaming of the area as Sushant Singh Rajput Chowk, the actor's fans were elated. Several fans posted videos and photos of the renamed Chowk with Sushant's name on it and paid tribute to the actor.
