YRF’s action-adventure Shamshera, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor, and Sanjay Dutt, promised to be one of the big surprises of 2020. Recent reports suggested that Ranbir and Sanjay will wrap up the pending portions of Shamshera in the city itself. Merely four days of patchwork on the dacoit drama is left. A source close to the development had informed that Karan Malhotra, the director, is planning to wrap it up inside Yash Raj studios with limited crew members present. However, now the dates are pushed and the shoot is postponed due to the hiked number of COVID-19 cases.
Confirming the delay, Ashok Dubey (General Secretary, FWICE) told us, "Yes, there has been a delay by a fortnight as far as 'Shamshera' is concerned. The shoot for its remaining portions will now begin around August 15."
Shamshera is said to be a larger-than-life entertainer with jaw-dropping action sequences and breathtaking visuals. The film was also shot in Ladakh and has Ronit Roy, Ashutosh Rana, Sharat Saxena, and Saurabh Shulka in the supporting cast. No update on its new release date has been given yet.
