Suniel Shetty to reportedly play a cop in AMR Ramesh's multi-lingual web series based on the life of sandalwood smuggler Veerappan

Suniel Shetty, who was last seen in Darbar, is likely to join AMR Ramesh's upcoming web series. The Kannada filmmaker recently announced about his 10-hour long content based on the life of sandalwood smuggler Veerappan. The show will be made in multiple languages including Hindi.

While there were reports that actor Kishore has been roped in to play Veerappan's character in the series, reports suggest that the makers have also finalised Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty for a crucial role. AMR Ramesh recently narrated the script over a call and the actor was quite impressed with his character. Sources say that he will be playing the role of a cop who encountered Veerappan. The makers have also initiated talks with prominent celebrities in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam for important roles. An official annoucement regarding the cast and crew of the film will be made soon.

Confirming the speculations, the director said, “Yes, I am keen on casting the Bollywood actor as a supercop in our web series. We are in our initial rounds of discussions.” Ramesh added that the confirmation will be made once they finalise the terms with Suniel Shetty. “It’s the same case with a few other artistes with whom we are currently in talks with,” he said.

The series will also be produced by AMR Ramesh under his home banner AMR Ramesh Pictures. It will mainly focus on Veerappan's life and how the police killed him in 2004.
