Vishal Bharadwaj responds to author Harinder Sikka's claim of directing Talvar, says, 'It was Meghna Gulzar's creation'

Harinder Sikka, the author of the novel Calling Sehmat on which Meghna Gulzar's Raazi is based on, alleged the filmmaker for not giving him the due credits. He went on to claim that Meghna didn't even call him for the screening of the Alia Bhatt's-Vicky Kaushal's spy-thriller. In addition to this, in his previous interview with a leading daily, Harinder alleged that Vishal Bharadwaj was the 'anchor' behind Meghna's Talvar (2015) and she didn't direct the film on her own.

Now, reacting to Harinder's claim of directing Talvar, Vishal, on Twitter, clarified in strong words that the thriller is entirely Meghna's work and apparently he visited the sets only on the muhurat. "I only went on the sets of Talvar once, on the muhurat to break the coconut and have gulab jamun Smiling face with smiling eyes. Talvar was directed by @meghnagulzar and it was out and out her creation. Anyone who refutes this is misinformed. @JungleePictures #PritiShahani @PritiShahani," Vishal wrote. In another tweet, he lauded Meghna's ability to direct great content-driven films and said, "She has proved her creative prowess again with the beautiful Raazi and the brave Chhapaak"

Harinder, in his statement, mentioned, "I was under the impression that Talvar was directed by Meghna. Later on, I learnt from sources that she wasn’t the whole-sole person responsible for it. It was filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj who in reality was the anchor behind it and he did it as a ‘Guru Dakshina’ to Gulzar."

Meghna is yet to respond to the entire controversy.
