Bollywood has never been a bed of roses and there have been umpteen stories about misbehaviour and misconduct over the years. However, in recent times words like nepotism, groupism and favouritism have become buzz word about how things work in the industry. Several celebrities have come forward to share their ordeal and talk about dark realities prevalent in showbiz. Now, Raveena Tandon has also come forward to make some shocking revelations about how she was termed arrogant since she refused to sleep around with heroes or having affairs.
She told an online portal, “I didn’t have godfathers, wasn’t part of camps and didn’t have heroes promoting me. I was not sleeping around with heroes for roles or having affairs. In a lot of cases, I was considered arrogant because I wasn’t pandering to what the heroes wanted me to do - laughing when they wanted me to laugh, sitting when they asked me to sit.”
She further said, “There used to be these cabals which used to have the heroes, their girlfriends and their journalist chamchas. What used to shock me was that a lot of these female journalists would do something like this to another woman. When they now stand up and say, we’re feminists and writing ultra-feminist columns." However, she said that she refrained from lashing out at these people.
Raveena had previously tweeted about the ‘mean girl’ gang of the industry and spoken that camps do exist in showbiz. She had revealed that she had been removed from films by heroes, their girlfriends, journalists and fake and blind stories abound in the media. She had written that sometimes careers are destroyed and sometimes you struggle and survive. She captioned her tweet with the hashtag #oldwoundsrevisited.
