Satish Shah says he was admitted to the hospital after tested COVID positive in July; veteran actor now under home-quarantine

Veteran actor Satish Shah informed that he was tested positive for the novel COVID-19 in the month of July. Known for his extensive work in television, theatre and films, Satish was discharged from the hospital on July 28. Talking to a media agency, he said that he is absolutely fine now and will be home-quarantining himself as per the protocol. Satish informed that he was tested positive after developing a fever. He added that there is nothing to be afraid of. 

"I am absolutely well now. As per protocol, I have to quarantine myself till August 11. I had developed fever which I suppressed by taking medicines. But then I was asked to get myself tested and the result turned out to be positive. I got admitted into the hospital immediately. I would advise everyone to do that because they monitor you round-the-clock and you can avoid complications. There’s nothing to be afraid of," Satish told.

Urging people to remain positive, the 69-year-old said one shouldn't panic about COVID-19. "You should not panic about Covid-19. It only creates complications if you have some health issues. In my case, it was mainly the age factor which made me cautious. But I am fine now by God’s grace and would want people to remain positive," Satish added.

The actor told the media agency that he had planned to inform his fans about his COVID-19 diagnosis after his quarantine ended. However, he changed his mind after Abhishek Bachchan revealed on Twitter that he has tested negative. Thanking the medical staff who nursed him back to health, Satish tweeted, "#Lilawatihospital can’t thank the angels in there enough for restoring my health back to normal. God bless u all."

Satish is best remembered for his role as Indravadan Sarabhai in the popular show Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai. Apart from this, he featured in numerous films including Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Hum Aapke Hain Koun…!, Hum Saath Saath Hain and Main Hoon Na.
