Aslam Khan, the younger brother of Bollywood thespian Dilip Kumar breathed his last at the age of 88 in Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital this morning. The octogenarian was tested positive for the novel Coronavirus and was admitted to the hospital along with his other brother Ehsan Khan on August 15 with low oxygen levels.
Confirming the same, Dr. Jalil Parkar, a senior pulmonologist, in a statement told that Aslam Khan passed away due to COVID-19, hypertension and ischaemic heart disease. "Aslam Khan, younger brother of legendary actor Dilip Kumar passed away early morning in Lilavati Hospital, due to COVID19 with diabetes, hypertension and ischaemic heart disease. He was 88," his statement read.
On the other hand, Ehsan Khan is said to be critical. The 90 years old Eshan Khan reportedly has a history of blood pressure and heart ailment. However not on ventilator support, non-invasive ventilator was put on August 16.
After complaints of breathlessness, Aslam and Ehsan, on August 15, were immediately taken to the Lilavati Hospital where they were tested positive for Coronavirus post a rapid antigen test was done. They were admitted to the COVID ward.
The family is yet to issue a statement.
