Bhoot Police was announced in 2019 with Saif, Ali Fazal and Fatima Sana Shaikh in the lead roles. However, Ali has been replaced by Arjun and Jacqueline-Yami came on board in place of Fatima. Talking about the change in cast, Pavan mentioned that the script was changed a couple of times after producers Ramesh Taurani and Akshai Puri joined the project. Considering it, the makers felt Saif, Arjun, Yami and Jacqueline fit the bill. "The script has gone through several changes after Rameshji and Akshai got on board. Saif, Arjun, Jacqueline and Yami perfectly complement each other in the film," Pavan added.
Producer Ramesh informed that the team has started the pre-production work and will go on floors soon. The horror-comedy will be shot across Dharamsala, Dalhousie and Palampur. "We are consulting experts to plan safety measures for the team. We aim to wrap up 80 percent of the film during the outdoor schedules. The remaining portions will be shot at a set in Mumbai," Ramesh said.
