Veteran actress Surekha Sikri had to be rushed to a hospital after she suffered a brain stroke. The actress is admitted to Criticare Hospital in Mumbai. Apparently, Surekha fell unconscious at home after which her nurse who takes care of her brought her to the hospital. The 75-year-old actress is now in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.
Dr Naam Joshi, Criticare Hospital said, “Surekha ji is critical and in ICU, was brought after a stroke caused by an artery in the brain bursting and causing localized bleeding in the surrounding tissues. A team doctors is monitoring her health.”
According to the media reports, the actress has regained consciousness and her family is now at the hospital. There were reports that the actress needed financial aid for her medical treatment. However, her nurse said that the actress’ family has taken care of her expenses and financial help is no longer needed.
Surekha Sikri has worked in numerous films and television shows. She is well-known for playing Dadisa in TV serial Balika Vadhu and essaying the role of Ayushmann Khurrana’s grandmother in Badhaai Ho. The veteran actress has won three National Awards in her stellar career.
