Emraan Hashmi's 'Harami' shed light on youth crime, love and redemption; trailer out!

Emraan Hashmi's upcoming Indo-American film Harami is all set to premiere at Busan International Film Festival 2020 which will be held between October 21 - October 30, 2020. Now, with a few days left to go, the makers of Harami released its trailer on social media. Harami is the only Indian film to be selected for this year's main competition.

Harami revolves around Sagar bhai (Emraan) who trains and encourages young boys to pickpocket and commit petty crimes. A tale of youth crime and broken destinies, love and redemption, Harami is set in Mumbai and showcases the city's bylanes in a visually striking manner. The film is directed by Shyam Madiraju.

Harami, apart from Emraan, stars Rizwan Shaikh, Dhanshree Patil, Harsh Rajendra Rane, Ashutosh Gaikwad, Machindra Ghadkar, Sarthak Dusane, Manish Mishra, Yash Kamble, Durgesh Gupta, Aditya Bhagat, Starr Liu, Diksha Nisha and Adil Khan.

Talking about the film, director Shyam in an interview said, "The most endearing and cherishing part of this whole journey was working with all the actors in the film. Especially the kids, a majority of them having never acted before, and some actually from Dharavi; it was an experience of a lifetime. But it was Emraan Hashmi playing the role of ‘Sagar Bhai’ a very Dickensian Fegin like character who is a former English teacher turned gang lord who is the real revelation of the film. The role complex and nuanced and unlike anything Emraan had done before, was a true challenge for both Emraan and I"
