Shabana Azmi lashes out at Kangana Ranaut, latter’s sister Rangoli Chandel jumps in the feud to defend the actress

Shabana Azmi has come forward to express her views that maybe Kangana Ranaut is afraid of fading into oblivion and therefore she ends up making ‘outrageous statements to stay in the news’. Shabana also advised Kangana to ‘just do what she is best at – acting’. Kangana has been hurling abuses at the entertainment industry for the supposed ills like nepotism, favouritism and the alleged rampant drug abuse. In the past, she had called Bollywood ‘gutter’ that drew sharp reaction from Jaya Bachchan and several other celebs.

In an interview with a leading tabloid, Shabana took aim at Kangana’s statements about the Hindi film industry and said, “Kangana has started believing in her own myth. She says she taught feminism to the film industry, she taught it nationalism. I’m glad she spelt that out because nobody else had noticed! I think she fears the day when she will no longer be in the headlines and so has to keep making outrageous statements to stay in the news. Poor girl, why doesn’t she just do what she is best at, which is acting."

However, the veteran actress’ statements did not go down well with Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel who took to Instagram to question the different set of rules for them. Taking to her Instagram stories, Rangoli wrote, “Here comes the suicide gang! Dear Shabana ji I have a few questions for you and your husband. Why don't you both also stick to your respective acting and poetry? Why do you guys actively participate in anti-India politics? To remain in headlines? Or you feel for certain issues? If your anti-India agendas are genuine then why can't her pro-India agendas be genuine as well? Why different rules for her and different for you?"
