Ajay Devgn NOT approached to play Lord Shiv in Prabhas' and Saif Ali Khan's 'Adipurush', say sources


A while ago, reports of Ajay Devgn being approached for Om Raut's Adipurush surfaced. Featuring Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan as Ram and Raavan respectively, it was being speculated that Ajay is considered to play Shiv in the magnum opus 3D film. However, now, there is an update on the same. Ajay's team has issued a statement clearing the air. 

In the statement, Ajay's team dismissed the rumour and stated that the superstar hasn't been approached for Adipurush for the role of Shiv. According to a source close to the actor, he is currently busy wrapping the shoot of his upcoming film Bhuj: The Pride Of India which will release on Disney+Hotstar. He will also resume work on Maidaan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi

Adipurush which is based on a popular chapter of Indian mythology, will be produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om, Prasad Sutar and Rajesh Nair. The film that celebrates the triumph of good over evil is currently in the pre-production stage. The magnum opus 3D film is likely to go on floors in 2021. It will release in theatres in 2022. Adipurush will be shot in Hindi and Telugu and dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
