Nearly six months ago, the film industry lost its gem Irrfan to neuroendocrine tumour. The 54-year-old critically acclaimed actor lost a two-year-long battle against the tumour on April 29. The loss came across as a personal and tragic shock to the entire film fraternity, especially his friends including filmmaker Homi Adajania. Homi directed Irrfan in his last film Angrezi Medium which released in March this year.
Homi, who was one of Irrfan's close friends, shared an unseen video from the sets of Angrezi Medium on Instagram and remembered the actor fondly. In the clipping, Irrfan is seen laughing uncontrollably with Homi, Deepak Dobriyal and Kiku Sharda. "When you just can’t shoot anymore because you’re laughing too hard," he captioned the video.
Homi, after the news of Irrfan's demise broke, penned a heartfelt note bidding him adieu. "We laughed about you dying... in fact we often abused your “uninvited guests” .... but I didn’t think I’d feel so fuckin broken when I heard what I was expecting to hear for a while now. I am eternally grateful for walking a few steps of your journey with you. I am eternally grateful that I could call myself your friend. I am eternally grateful for memories stuffed with so much joy, so much laughter in such little time. You once told me how you had an inexplicable love for your craft, but didn’t want the stardom anymore. Well, you never needed to be a star my friend, because you shone brighter than anything in the universe. RIP," he wrote while sharing a picture with the late actor.
