Former Indian cricketer and captain Kapil Dev underwent an emergency angioplasty in the wee hours of today morning. The procedure was a success and the cricketer has been admitted to the ICU for recovery. Wishes pour in from Bollywood celebs and sports personalities for the legendary cricketer.
Ranveer Singh, who is essaying the role of the cricketer in his upcoming sports film ’83 also prayed for the latter’s speedy recovery. Taking to Twitter, he wrote, “The Legend @therealkapildev embodies strength and resilience. Praying for a speedy recovery of my main man.”

Ranveer’s ’83 is based on India’s first World Cup win in 1983 when Kapil led his team to victory. Deepika Padukone will play his wife Romi Dev in the film. Kabir Khan has helmed the project. The film is eyeing a Christmas 2020 theatrical release.
