The small eatery ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’ in Malviya Nagar saw hundreds of customers after a video shot by YouTuber Gaurav Wasan showing the plight of its 80-year-old owner Kanta Prasad amid the pandemic went viral on social media. However, the story took a startling turn when the humanitarian effort by Wasan was questioned by Prasad aka ‘Baba’, who filed a case against the YouTuber for cheating. The Delhi Police registered a case against Wasan for allegedly misappropriating the funds received as donation for the owner of ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’ on Friday.
Now, a video of Wasan has surfaced where he comes clean on the allegation. Talking to a radio channel, the video has gone viral and shows the food blogger explaining how he feels ‘torn’ and ‘cheated’ due to the allegations against him. In the video, he says that he has lost faith in humanity as Prasad had claimed that he never invited the YouTuber’s help.

In the case registered against the YouTuber, Prasad had accused Wasan of ‘intentionally sharing only his and his family/friends bank details and mobile numbers with the donors and collected a huge amount of donation without providing any information to the complainant’. However, Easan had denied all allegations and said that he transferred all the money into Prasad’s account and even shared details of the transaction receipts.
Following Wasan’s video, many netizens hoped that this does not deter people from helping others in need. However, they also conceded that ‘Bhalai Ka Zamana Hi Nahi Raha’. However, there were many who sided with Prasad too. Check out the tweets below:
