Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha is shaping up into an exciting project. Be it Aamir and Kareena Kapoor Khan's reunion or the superstar wearing a turban for the first time, the Advait Chandan directorial has garnered much attention. Rumours of Shah Rukh Khan making a cameo in the film is like a cherry on the cake. Now, according to the latest development regarding Shah Rukh's cameo, a report of a leading daily informed that he will be reprising the iconic character of Raj in Laal Singh Chaddha.
A source close to the film told that Shah Rukh's portion is set in the 90s and the superstar will revisit his character, Raj Malhotra from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. "The screenplay weaves in iconic moments from each decade and since we love our matinee idols, Chaddha’s journey would be incomplete without certain top stars. So, during this journey of self-discovery, Aamir lands on the sets to meet Shah Rukh around the release of DDLJ and sharing his personal experiences, engages with the wonder world,” the source told. Reportedly, the look will be attained with the help of VFX and prosthetics.

On the other hand, it is reported that Salman Khan is also in talks with Aamir for Laal Singh Chaddha. According to the report, they are yet to decide which character will be brought alive on the screen once again. "His Prem wooed the audience in the '90s, from Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hai Koun! to Hum Saath Saath Hain and Aamir is keen to get Salman back as Prem in his social dramedy. There's a track set in 1989 that depicts a change in audience taste, from action to romance, and the craze around Salman. They are expected to finalise the details soon," the source added.
Laal Singh Chaddha also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Mona Singh and Manav Vij. It will release on December 25, 2021.
