After a decade long sabbatical, Sushmita Sen made a powerful and impactful comeback with Ram Madhvani's Aarya this year. Interestingly, her elder daughter Renée Sen has embarked on a new journey as she has finally stepped into the world of acting. The 21-year-old's debut film is titled Suttabaazi. Giving Sushmita a birthday gift and a delightful surprise, makers of the film released the trailer on social media.
The trailer opens with Diya Kumar, a rebellious teenager and a clandestine smoker, complaining about never-ending online classes. Suttabaazi appears to be set in the current pandemic times. Moments later, she sneaks into the bathroom to smoke. In order to avoid getting caught, she sprays room-freshener. It seems Diya and her mother Savitri Kumar (Komal Chhabria) don't see eye to eye. Her father Mr. Kumar (Rahul Vohra) is caught between them. The disclaimer, "Smoking is injurious to health" makes an appearance in the trailer towards the end.
Suttabaazi is directed by Kabeer Khurana and produced by Simran Lakhanpal, Ramneek Sawhney and Pankaj Rungta. The release date is yet to be announced. It is said to premiere on an OTT platform.
Renée Sen started shooting for Suttabaazi in October.
