After winning accolades all over the world at various International film festivals, celebrity chef Vikas Khanna’s film The Last Color is finally ready for release in India. The film will hit theatres on December 11, 2020. Ahead of its theatrical release, the makers released its first trailer that conveys an emotional and heartwrenching story. The film features Neena Gupta and Aqsa Siddiqui in the lead and revolves around the life of a widow who finds a new lease and hope in life by befriending a young girl who earns her living as a tightrope walker and flower seller in the bylanes of Vrindavan.
While it has been Neena who has been at the centre of the film’s posters and attention but the trailer begins with the glimpses of the gritty and determined Aqsa as Chhoti who savours her dream of saving Rs 300 so that she can attend school. Her dejectedness about life gets a caregiver in Neena’s 60-year-old widow Noor. The caregiving and love is mutual as the young girl brings colour to Noor’s colourless and pale life. She promises, “This time I will put colour on you during Holi."

However, her promise faces her own tribulations and the widow herself is bound by age-old traditions and shackles of the society which she is afraid to break. The trailer is heartwrenching with superb performances by Neena and Aqsa and their relationship is the highlight. The trailer certainly promises a gripping film.
The Last Color’s first look was unveiled at Cannes International Film Festival while the world premiere of The Last Color was at the prestigious Palm Springs International Film Festival. It has premiered at several international film festivals, including the New York Indian Film Festival 2019 and Indian Film Festival Stuttgart 2019, and was also sent for consideration for the Best Picture Oscar at the 92nd Academy Awards
