Johnny Lever recalls going through personal issues in the past, reveals Shah Rukh Khan extended helping hand when his father was unwell

Johnny Lever is gearing up to add a punch of fun with Coolie No. 1. The rom-com starring Sara Ali Khan and Varun Dhawan in the lead will release on Amazon Prime Video on December 25. Ahead of its much-awaited release, Johnny spoke to an entertainment portal about his 4-decade long career in Bollywood. During the interview, he talked about sailing through a difficult phase on the personal front when his father had to be operated on. Recalling those days, Johnny revealed that it was Shah Rukh Khan who came to his aid. Showering praise on the superstar with whom he shares a great relationship, Johnny said Shah Rukh understood his worries even when he tried to underplay it.

"There were times when I was going through some personal issues and had to film a comedy scene. One such time was when my father had to be operated on, I was a bit preoccupied with it, but I still had to shoot a comic sequence. Now I don’t let my personal issues interfere with work, so at that time I had not told anyone about this issue. I don’t know how, but Shah Rukh Khan came into the room I was in and said he heard about my father and was inquiring about him. Here I was getting ready for a comedy scene, so I tried underplaying the issue. But he continued saying that if I needed anything I could tell him. This was during the film Baadshah," Johnny told.
