Forbes 100 Digital Stars: Akshay Kumar, Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan make it to the list

Social media, in the current time, is more than just a source of entertainment. Celebrities and public figures have been using it to keep in touch with fans, raise awareness and inspire optimism. With their powerful social media presence, celebrities have taken their fans into the personal and professional world, virtually. As 2020 is coming to an end, Forbes Asia has released a list highlighting 100 singers, bands, film and TV stars from across the Asia-Pacific region who have taken the digital world by storm with their social media presence. In their inaugural 100 Digital Stars list, we can see the names of celebrities from all over the world who have been influential in the virtual world. 

Speaking of Bollywood celebrities, Amitabh Bachchan makes an appearance on the list. The veteran actor, according to Forbes, has 105 million social media followers. He helped raise $7 million for Covid-19 relief. Akshay Kumar, one of Bollywood's highest-paid actors, has over 131 million followers on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter according to Forbes. She has 74 million social media followers and has started an eco and animal-focused website named Coexist. Shah Rukh Khan, also known as Bollywood's King Khan, has been charming his audience for nearly 3 decades now. Not just an actor, he is a successful producer with 106 million social media followers. Apart from charming female fans with his drool-worthy looks, the actor who has 33 million Instagram followers, has participated in the I For India virtual concert to raise funds for COVID-19 warriors. 

Singer Neha Kakkar took everyone by surprise when she announced her relationship with Rohanpreet Singh. Her October wedding was the talk of the town. She has over 49 million on Instagram and is one of the most followed Indian playback singers. Anushka Sharma who is gearing up to welcome her first child with her husband Virat Kohli, is an advocate for women’s and environmental causes. The brand ambassador for Google Duo and Standard Chartered Bank, Anushka has 84 million social media followers. 

Shahid Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Katrina Kaif, Shreya Ghoshal, Atif Aslam and Jacqueline Fernandez are also on the list.
