Rumours of a few team members of Jug Jug Jeeyo testing positive for COVID-19 started doing the rounds on December 4. Soon after, it was confirmed that the star cast including Varun Dhawan, Maniesh Paul and Neetu Kapoor had tested positive. The team was in Chandigarh for the shoot of the film, along with lead actress Kiara Advani and Anil Kapoor who tested negative for the virus.
On December 11, Neetu's daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni confirmed that her mother has tested negative and recovered. While VD's confirmation on testing negative is yet to come, it is said that Kiara and Anil, along with the rest of the Jug Jug Jeeyo team have been requested to return to the sets to resume the shoot on December 17.
"After the film hit a roadblock, it was becoming difficult to get the combination dates of actors again. So, Anil, Kiara, and Prajakta Koli are likely to begin filming their portions by later this week. The team of assistant directors, under the able guidance of producer Shashank Khaitan, are eyeing to kick off the shoot by Thursday. Varun, Neetu and Raj are on the road to recovery. Once they test negative and are given the clean chit by their doctors, they will resume work," reveals a source. Maniesh Paul, who had tested positive on returning to Mumbai, too has some scenes remaining.
Jug Jugg Jeeyo is produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. The film also stars Prajakta Koli and Maniesh Paul.
