On December 12, Nafisa Ali delighted social media users by sharing a video of Lucky Ali singing his popular song O Sanam from the album Sunoh at an impromptu setting in Goa. Fans of the veteran singer who heard him sing live and on their phones were left absolutely amazed. Little did Nafisa know that her post will get 3,483,404 views (and counting) in just a few days. Talking to an entertainment portal about the same, Nafisa shared the behind-the-scenes story.
"So, My friend Bablu told me about this lovely place and said all the young musicians come there and since Lucky is here, he asked would you like to come and listen to them. Lucky said, Ya, of course I encourage musicians so I want to be there... So we went there and they sang and it was a beautiful evening... When it all came to an end, they said, Sir please sing us a song and now Lucky said, Nafisa, you’ve put me in a spot. I said what did you think, you are their guru, you are the legend. If they want you to sing one song, I feel you show them how you sing. Then I just quickly put my camera on and recorded it," Nafisa shared.
Saying that she doesn't understand what 'going viral' means, Nafisa said she just wanted to celebrate the genius of her dear old friend. "Yes yes, he says what are you doing Nafisa! I said I took one snippet of you and I posted it, so I don’t know what has happened after that. I don’t understand what is 'going viral' and all. I just wanted to celebrate the genius of my dear old friend," she said.
Calling Lucky a musician with a soul, experience and sensitivity, Nafisa added, "You know, young people especially tend to forget, so why should we forget somebody who is a genius, and only remember him when he was young and handsome and he was such a cool dude? Now, he’s a sort of a musician with a soul, experience and sensitivity and you can see it in his music. So, I find it very exciting and I feel like I’m the diva and I am promoting my old friend because I want people to see him today and not only remember what he did before but now too."
