In the early hours of Friday, a 20-year-old Zomato delivery boy, identified as Satish, was killed after a speeding Mercedes car hit his scooter in Oshiwara, Mumbai. Satish, who was on his way to deliver food, died on the spot. The accident took place at 3 am. While the police reached the spot immediately, Bollywood actor Sonu Sood arrived at the location to help the victim's family.
According to sources, Sonu, who has been making headlines for his philanthropic work towards those in need, is said to be providing legal help and assistance for Satish's cremation. In a video, Sonu is heard addressing people who were protesting against the car driver and demanded justice for Satish. He assured that Satish's family will receive support from him.
According to reports, a person named Taiffur Shaikh was driving the Mercedes. He was allegedly in an inebriated state at the time of the incident. A preliminary probe reportedly stated that Shaikh, who was with his friend, lost control of the car while speeding. The police detained Shaikh. Reportedly, an FIR is being registered against him and he will most likely be booked under sections of the Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicles Act for rash driving, causing death due to negligence and drunk driving.
